April 17 (SeeNews) - Romania’s industrial sales rose by 5.4% year-on-year in the first two months of 2024, the statistical office, INS, said.
Sales in the manufacturing sector saw a 7.1% annual increase in the two months through February, while sales in the mining sector fell by 25.2%, INS said in a press release on Wednesday.
Sales of capital goods increased by 10.6% on the year, while sales of durable and non-durable goods rose by 2.9% and 4%, respectively.
Sales of intermediate goods rose by 1.6% on the year in January–February, while energy sales climbed by an annual 4.8%.
In February alone, industrial sales increased by 8.2% on the year and 11.7% on the month.
In 2023, Romania’s industrial sales inched up by 0.7%.
